NOTES TO NEW PARENTS:
For home games, students will be expected to be at the school at a time designated by Mr. Schuster. (5:30 in past years) This allows time for the students to warm up and change into their uniforms. The band will usually march from outside the band room into the stadium. (Homecoming is the exception to this, as there is a parade through downtown. Details will be posted as they become available.) The band performs a pre-game show and a half-time show. After the game, the band will return to the band room, change out of their uniforms, properly hang up and return their uniforms, sending soiled portions to be washed. Expect this to take a few minutes, especially after the first game in uniform. Once students have learned the routine, time is shortened significantly. Time is also dependent on the number of helpers we have volunteering in the uniform room.
Parents, feel free to come help with uniforms before and/or after games. The job is easy, and we often have some fun as we work. It is a great way to get to know other parents. No need to commit to specific dates to help, just come on in if you have time that particular evening.
Help is also needed washing the uniforms. Several parents take uniform parts home after each game to clean. If you are interested in helping in this way, drop by the uniform room after any game. The more help we have, the less each person has to wash. Instructions for washing, and when to return uniforms will be given to you when you take uniforms home.
