Band and orchestra trips are taken every other year - the 2018 trip is to New York City from the evening of Thursday, April 12 through Monday, April 16, 2018. All instrumental students at Davison High School are eligible to go on this trip.
An informational meeting will be held October 11th, 2017 at 7pm in the AMR.
The cost will be either $903 (based on 80 students) or $876 (based on 90 students), which will cover buses, hotels, tours, dinners, show/concert tickets, tour manager, etc. Breakfast will be served at the hotel, money for lunches and souvenirs are up to the students. There will be several fundraisers between October and the trip for students to help offset the cost, those monies will go directly into their student accounts. All students parents will be notified before the December payment which payment breakdown we are going off of.
The cost and deadlines for chaperons will be the same as for the students. Eligible chaperons must sign up, make their deposit, complete the Davison Schools Volunteer Form and the Chaperon Guidelines and Fees Agreement form, and agree to abstain from alcohol and tobacco use for the duration of the trip. We have room for 16 chaperons; if there are more than 16 interested, preference will be given to DBOB officers and spouses, followed by active boosters/volunteers in the instrumental program, senior parents, junior parents, sophomore parents, then freshman parents. Selections will be made by November 15th. If the interested parent is not chosen as a chaperon, their deposit can be refunded or will be used toward their student’s trip balance.
Trip payments can be made in class during the 2 days prior to and on the day of the due dates or on Payforit.net . A $219 deposit is due by November 3rd, 2017 along with the trip release/fees agreement.
The remaining payments of $219 (or $228) each are due by 12/1/17, 1/4/17, and 2/2/18 in class (made out to Davison High School) or on Payforit.net

Any late payment will result in the student or chaperon being moved to the waiting list. Room sign-ups will be during class Wednesday, January 24th, 2018 and bus sign-ups will be Wednesday, February 7th, 2018.

Normally the trip spans Wednesday evening through Sunday, however due to M-Step test schedules the trip has been offset to Thursday evening through Monday and students will not be expected to go to school on the 16th; it WILL be an excused absence.
